Angels and Demons Psalm 82 English

Do you see that everywhere there is the use of the word “God”, or “gods”, that in each case it is “elohim” in the Hebrew?

Let’s Look Again And Find All The “elohims”

Spiritual Beings = Elohim

See how the inhabitants of the heavenly realm play a key part in the biblical story.

What Exactly Is An Elohim?

1 Samuel 28:13

1 Samuel 28:13 is another example of where elohim is used. See here for the verse in ALL translations. It includes god, gods, ghostly figures, spirits, spirit, spectre and divine being as the translation. The point is, it wasn’t Yahweh coming out of the earth. It was the spirit of Samuel. And it is just one more occurrence of the use of elohim in the Bible.

What Does This Mean?

Simply put, there are more “elohim” in the Bible than just Yahweh. The reason we as believers are uncomfortable with this idea, is because we have been told there is ONE GOD. So seeing Him being described as an elohim, while there are also other elohim around, is disconcerting to say the least. But bear with us. Ultimately, all it means is that all members of the heavenly host are “elohim”. AND, it isn’t henotheism either, because Yahweh is the Most High, and the top position is not interchangeable. There is only ONE Yahweh, and no other elohim is like Him. Yahweh is the Most High, omnipotent, omniscient, the Creator, our Father. And he is one of many “elohim”. But let Michael Heiser explain.
